Summary

- What this covers: Caduno is not live yet. This policy covers our website and early access waitlist only. Before the Caduno app launches, we will publish a new privacy policy and tell you about it.
- What we collect: the details you give us when you join the waitlist, such as your name, business name, trade, team size, email, mobile number and postcode, plus basic information about how you use our website.
- Why we collect it: to run the waitlist, tell you about our launch and early access, and understand what businesses like yours need so we can build a better product.
- We never sell your personal information. We never rent it, trade it, or give it to advertisers or data brokers.
- Who sees it: our small team, and the service providers that help us run the website and send messages. They can only use it to provide their service to us.
- Where it is stored: we aim to store waitlist records in Australia. Some providers may process information overseas, mainly in the United States.

1. Who we are
In this policy, "Caduno", "we", "us" and "our" means Marina Ukalovic, a sole trader (ABN 60 945 088 336), trading as Caduno.
Our business structure: Caduno currently operates as a sole trader business. We are setting up a company to run Caduno and will do so as soon as possible. When the company is registered, it will take over the Caduno business, including the waitlist and the personal information we hold. The company will be bound by this policy, or a policy that gives you at least the same protection, and we will update this page with its name and details. See section 26 for more.
We are based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Caduno is an Australian platform being built to help homeowners find trusted local trade businesses, and to help trade businesses manage their work from their phone.
We are responsible for the personal information we collect through our website and waitlist.
Privacy contact: hello@cadunoapp.com
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains how we collect, hold, use, disclose and protect personal information through:
- our website, cadunoapp.com, and any related pages
- our early access waitlist
- emails and text messages we send about Caduno's launch and early access
- surveys, feedback forms, interviews and testing sessions you choose to take part in before launch
- any messages you send to us, including by email or social media
This policy does not cover the Caduno app. The app is not available yet. Before anyone can create an account, use the app or pay for a plan, we will publish a separate privacy policy that explains how the app handles information, including payments, reviews, job details and any use of artificial intelligence. If you are on the waitlist, we will tell you about that new policy before it applies to you.
3. The laws we follow
We handle personal information in line with:
- the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs)
- the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme in Part IIIC of the Privacy Act
- the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), for emails and text messages
- the Australian Consumer Law, which prohibits misleading or deceptive conduct, including about how we treat your information
Some small businesses don't have to follow the Australian Privacy Principles. We choose to follow them anyway, because we want you to be able to trust us with your information from day one.
We are also aware that Australian law gives individuals a right to take action for serious invasions of privacy. We take that seriously, and we design how we handle information to respect your privacy.
4. Key terms
- Personal information means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether it is true or not. Your name, email address and mobile number are examples. Business contact details can also be personal information when they identify you, such as a sole trader's email address.
- Sensitive information is a special category of personal information, such as health information, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or criminal record. We don't ask for it (see section 7).
- De-identified information is information that no longer identifies you and can't reasonably be used to identify you.
- Service provider means a business that provides a service to us, such as hosting or email delivery, and handles information on our behalf.
5. What personal information we collect
5.1 When you join the waitlist
We may collect:
| Information | Required? | Why we ask |
|---|---|---|
| Your name | Yes | So we know who you are and can address you properly |
| Which best describes you: trade business, homeowner, property manager, or strata or body corporate manager | Yes | So we send you relevant information and build the right features for each group |
| Your business or organisation name | If you are a business or organisation | To understand which businesses are interested and avoid duplicate sign-ups |
| Your trade or industry | Trade businesses only | To decide which trades to support first |
| Your team size | Trade businesses only | To design the right plans and features for sole traders and teams |
| Your email address | Yes | To confirm your place and contact you about launch and early access |
| Your mobile number | No | To send you important launch updates by text, if you choose to give it |
| Your postcode or suburb | Yes | To decide which areas to launch in first |
| Your biggest challenge or what you'd like Caduno to solve | No | To understand what matters most to you and shape the product |
| Whether you'd like to help test Caduno before launch | No | So we only invite people who want to take part |
| Your consent to our Terms and Privacy Policy, and when you gave it | Yes (recorded automatically) | To keep a record of your agreement, as the law expects |
| A one-way scrambled ("hashed") version of your IP address | Recorded automatically | To stop spam and repeated fake sign-ups. We can't read your actual IP address from it, and we delete it after 30 days |
Please don't include personal information about other people, or anything sensitive, in free-text answers.
5.2 When you take part in feedback, surveys, interviews or testing
If you choose to take part, we may also collect:
- your answers to survey questions
- your feedback, opinions and suggestions about Caduno
- notes from interviews or calls
- recordings of interviews or testing sessions, only if you agree to be recorded first
- information about how you use early test versions of Caduno, if you join a test
Taking part is always optional. Not taking part won't affect your place on the waitlist or any offer.
5.3 When you contact us
If you email us or message us on social media, we collect your contact details, the content of your message and any information you choose to include.
5.4 When you visit our website
Our website and service providers may automatically collect:
- your device type, operating system and browser
- your IP address, which we use to estimate your general location (city or region level) and to protect the website
- the pages you visit, how long you stay, and how you arrived (for example, from a search engine or social media post)
- the date and time of your visit
- error reports if something on the website doesn't work
Where we can, we use this information in a de-identified or aggregated way, such as "200 visitors from the Gold Coast this week", rather than about you personally.
6. How we collect it
We collect personal information:
- directly from you, when you fill in the waitlist form, answer a survey, take part in an interview or contact us
- automatically, when you use our website, through cookies and similar tools (see section 14)
- from someone else, rarely: for example, if a colleague, business partner or friend refers you to us or gives us your details. If this happens, we will tell you how we got your details when we first contact you, and we will remove them if you ask (see section 23)
We collect personal information only by lawful and fair means.
7. Information we don't collect
We do not ask for and do not want:
- sensitive information, such as health, racial or ethnic origin, religious or political beliefs, sexual orientation or criminal record
- financial information, such as bank account or credit card numbers
- government identifiers, such as your tax file number, driver's licence or Medicare number
- passwords for any other service
Please don't send these to us. If you do, we will delete them unless the law requires us to keep them.
We do not take payments through the website or waitlist.
8. Staying anonymous or using a different name
You can browse our website without telling us who you are.
To join the waitlist, we need at least a way to contact you (an email address). You can use a name you prefer to be called. If you give us false or incomplete details, we may not be able to send you launch information, confirm your eligibility for an offer, or reply to you properly.
9. Why we collect, hold, use and disclose it
We use personal information only for the purposes we explain here, or for purposes you would reasonably expect that are directly related to them, or where the law allows or requires it.
| Purpose | Information used |
|---|---|
| Adding you to the waitlist and keeping track of your place | Name, contact details, user type, consent record |
| Telling you about Caduno's launch, early access and invitations to test | Name, email, mobile (if given) |
| Telling you about any early access offer you may qualify for, and checking your eligibility | Name, business name, contact details, sign-up date |
| Deciding which trades, team sizes and areas to launch in first | Trade, team size, postcode, user type |
| Designing plans, prices and features that suit businesses like yours | Trade, team size, survey and interview answers |
| Inviting you to give feedback, take surveys, join interviews or test early versions | Name, contact details, user type, trade |
| Replying to your questions and requests | Contact details and your message |
| Keeping the website secure, preventing spam and fake sign-ups, and fixing problems | Technical and usage information |
| Understanding how people use the website so we can improve it | Analytics information, mostly de-identified |
| Meeting our legal obligations, and establishing or defending legal claims | Any relevant information |
We will not:
- sell, rent or trade your personal information
- give your information to advertisers, data brokers or other businesses for their own marketing
- use your information to build profiles to sell to others
- list your details publicly or in a directory without your permission
- use your information for any unrelated purpose without asking you first, unless the law allows or requires it
10. Using your information for research and product development
Caduno is being built with the people who will use it. We use waitlist information and feedback to understand the problems trade businesses and homeowners face, and to shape the product.
When we do this:
- we look at information in aggregate wherever we can, for example "40% of sign-ups are landscapers" or "most teams have 2 to 5 people"
- we may de-identify information and use it in reports, presentations, pitch materials or discussions with mentors, advisers, partners or investors. De-identified information can't be used to identify you, and we will not share your name or contact details for these purposes
- we will only quote you by name, or use your words, photo or business name in a testimonial or case study, if you give us your permission first
11. Direct marketing: emails and text messages
11.1 What we send
When you join the waitlist and tick the consent box, you agree to receive emails and, if you give us your mobile number, text messages from Caduno about:
- your place on the waitlist
- Caduno's launch, including launch dates and launch areas
- early access invitations and offers
- invitations to give feedback, take surveys or test early versions
- important changes to this policy or our Terms
We will not send you messages about unrelated products, and we will never let another business send messages to you through our list.
11.2 How we follow the Spam Act
- We only send marketing messages to people who have agreed to receive them.
- Every message clearly identifies Caduno as the sender and includes our contact details.
- Every email includes a working unsubscribe link.
- You can reply STOP to any text message to stop text messages.
- We process unsubscribe requests within 5 working days.
11.3 Opting out
You can stop receiving messages at any time by:
- clicking "unsubscribe" in any email
- replying STOP to any text message
- emailing hello@cadunoapp.com
Opting out of marketing messages won't delete your waitlist record unless you ask us to (see section 21). We may still send you a message if the law requires it, for example to tell you about a data breach that affects you.
12. Who we share it with
12.1 Our team
Your information can be accessed by Caduno's founders and anyone who works with us, only where they need it for the purposes in this policy. Everyone with access must keep it confidential.
12.2 Service providers
We use trusted service providers to run our website and waitlist. We give them only the information they need, and they may only use it to provide their services to us. The types of service providers we use are:
| Type of provider | What they do for us | Information they may handle | Where they may store or process it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Database and back-end hosting | Stores waitlist records securely | All waitlist information | Australia (Sydney region) |
| Website hosting and content delivery | Runs and delivers the website | Technical and usage information | Australia and overseas, including the United States |
| Email delivery | Sends confirmation and update emails | Name, email, message content | Mainly the United States |
| Text message delivery | Sends text messages | Name, mobile number, message content | Australia or the United States |
| Website analytics | Helps us understand how the website is used | Technical and usage information, mostly de-identified | The United States or the European Union |
| Error monitoring | Alerts us when something breaks | Technical information | Mainly the United States |
| Spam protection | Stops fake and automated sign-ups | Technical information, IP address | Overseas, including the United States |
| Survey and scheduling tools | Runs surveys and books interviews, if you take part | Name, email, your answers | Mainly the United States |
| Email and file storage for our team | Our business email and documents | Messages you send us | Australia and overseas |
We will keep this list accurate. If we start using a new type of provider that handles your personal information, we will update this policy.
12.3 Professional advisers
We may share information with our lawyers, accountants, insurers or other professional advisers where they need it to advise us, and they are bound by confidentiality.
12.4 When the law requires it
We may disclose information where:
- the law requires or authorises it, for example a court order
- it is reasonably necessary to help a law enforcement body
- we reasonably believe it is necessary to prevent a serious threat to someone's life, health or safety
- it is needed to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim
12.5 With your permission
We may share information for any other purpose if you ask us to or agree to it.
13. Storage and processing overseas
We aim to store waitlist records in Australia. However, some of our service providers are based overseas, or use systems in other countries, so your information may be processed or stored outside Australia, mainly in the United States, and possibly in the European Union or other countries where our providers operate.
Before we use an overseas provider, we take reasonable steps to make sure it handles personal information in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles. We do this by:
- choosing established providers with strong security and privacy commitments
- using providers' contractual data protection terms
- giving them only the information they need
We remain responsible for how our overseas providers handle your personal information, as the Privacy Act requires.
14. Cookies, analytics and similar technologies
14.1 What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored on your device by your browser. Similar technologies include pixels, local storage and device identifiers.
14.2 What we use them for
| Type | What it does | Can you turn it off? |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Makes the website and waitlist form work, and protects against spam and fake sign-ups | Turning these off may stop the form working |
| Analytics | Tells us which pages are visited, how people arrive and where they leave, so we can improve the website | Yes |
14.3 What we don't do
- We do not use advertising cookies or retargeting pixels to follow you around the internet or show you ads.
- We do not sell or share browsing information with advertisers.
If this changes, we will update this policy first and, where needed, ask for your consent.
14.4 Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers also let you turn on "Do Not Track" or block third-party cookies. The website will still work, although the waitlist form may need essential cookies.
15. How we protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, change or disclosure. These include:
- encryption: information is encrypted when it travels between your device and our website (HTTPS), and stored with providers that encrypt data at rest
- access control: only people who need access have it, protected by strong passwords and two-factor authentication
- least privilege: the public waitlist form can add records but cannot read them
- trusted providers: we use established providers with recognised security standards
- spam and abuse protection: to stop automated or fake sign-ups
- data minimisation: we collect only what we need, and delete it when we no longer need it
No method of storing or sending information is completely secure. We can't guarantee absolute security, but we work hard to protect your information and we review our security as Caduno grows.
16. Data breaches
If personal information we hold is lost, or accessed or disclosed without authorisation, we will act quickly to contain it and assess the harm.
If a breach is likely to result in serious harm to anyone affected, we will notify:
- the people affected, as soon as practicable, with information about what happened and the steps they can take
- the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner
We do this in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme in the Privacy Act.
17. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as the law requires.
| Information | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Waitlist records | Until you ask us to remove you, or 12 months after the Caduno app launches, whichever comes first. If you become a Caduno customer, your information moves under the app's privacy policy |
| Consent records and unsubscribe records | For as long as we hold your record, and then for up to 2 years so we can show we respected your choices |
| Survey answers and interview notes | Up to 2 years, then deleted or de-identified |
| Interview and testing recordings | Up to 12 months, unless you agree to a longer period |
| Messages you send us | Up to 2 years after the conversation ends |
| Website analytics | Up to 2 years, mostly in de-identified form |
| Information we must keep by law | For as long as the law requires |
When we no longer need personal information, we take reasonable steps to securely delete it or de-identify it. If Caduno doesn't launch, we will delete waitlist records within 12 months of deciding not to launch.
18. Keeping your information accurate
We take reasonable steps to make sure the personal information we hold is accurate, up to date and complete. Please tell us if your details change, for example if you change your email address or business name.
19. Accessing your information
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- How: email hello@cadunoapp.com with "Privacy request: access" in the subject line.
- Verification: we may ask you to confirm your identity before we release information, so we don't give it to the wrong person. We will only ask for what we need to do this.
- Timing: we will respond within 30 days.
- Cost: free.
We may refuse access only where the Privacy Act allows, for example if giving access would unreasonably affect someone else's privacy. If we refuse, we will tell you why in writing and how to complain.
20. Correcting your information
If you believe information we hold about you is wrong, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, you can ask us to correct it.
- How: email hello@cadunoapp.com with "Privacy request: correction" in the subject line.
- Timing: we will respond within 30 days.
- Cost: free.
If we don't agree that a correction is needed, we will tell you why in writing. You can ask us to attach a statement to your record saying you believe it is inaccurate.
21. Deleting your information and leaving the waitlist
You can ask us to remove you from the waitlist and delete your personal information at any time.
- How: email hello@cadunoapp.com with "Privacy request: delete" in the subject line, from the email address you signed up with.
- Timing: we will delete your information within 30 days and confirm when it's done.
- What we may keep: a record that you unsubscribed (so we don't contact you again by mistake), and any information the law requires us to keep.
Leaving the waitlist means you will no longer be eligible for any early access offer.
22. Automated decision-making
We do not use computer programs to make decisions about you that significantly affect your rights or interests through the website or waitlist.
We may use simple automated tools to sort and count waitlist sign-ups, for example by trade or area, and to block spam. These tools don't make decisions that significantly affect you.
If this changes, for example when the Caduno app launches with automated matching, the app's privacy policy will explain what decisions are made, what information is used, and how you can ask questions about them.
23. Information about other people
If you give us personal information about someone else, for example a colleague's details or details of a business partner, you must make sure they know you are sharing it, and that they understand how we will handle it under this policy.
If someone has given us your details without your knowledge, contact us and we will remove them.
24. Unsolicited information
If we receive personal information we didn't ask for and don't need, we will destroy or de-identify it as soon as practicable, where it is lawful and reasonable to do so.
25. Children and young people
Our website and waitlist are for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
If you believe someone under 18 has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
26. If Caduno changes ownership
If Caduno is sold, merged with another business, restructured or incorporated as a new company, personal information may be transferred to the new owner or entity as part of that change. If that happens:
- the new owner must handle it in line with this policy, or a policy that gives you at least the same protection
- we will tell waitlist members about the change, and you can ask to be removed
Moving to a company: Caduno is currently run by a sole trader, and we are setting up a company to run Caduno as soon as possible. When the company is registered, we will transfer the Caduno business to it, including the waitlist and the personal information we hold. This won't change how your information is protected:
- the company will use your information only for the purposes in this policy
- it will be bound by this policy, or a policy that gives you at least the same protection
- we will update this policy with the company's name and ACN, and email waitlist members to let them know
- you can ask to be removed from the waitlist at any time
27. Links to other websites and social media
Our website may link to other websites and social media platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn. We aren't responsible for how they handle your information. Please read their privacy policies before giving them your information.
If you interact with us on social media, the platform's own privacy policy applies to the information you share there.
28. Making a complaint
If you think we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or mishandled your information:
- Contact us first. Email hello@cadunoapp.com with "Privacy complaint" in the subject line. Tell us what happened, when, and what outcome you would like.
- We will acknowledge your complaint within 7 days.
- We will investigate and give you a written response within 30 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why and when to expect an answer.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):
- Website: www.oaic.gov.au
- Phone: 1300 363 992
- Post: GPO Box 5288, Sydney NSW 2001
29. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Caduno grows, as our providers change, or when the law changes.
- We will post the updated policy on this page with a new effective date and version number.
- If a change significantly affects how we handle your information, we will email waitlist members at least 14 days before it takes effect, unless the change is required sooner by law.
- We will not use information we already hold in a significantly different way without telling you first and, where required, asking for your consent.
Earlier versions: you can ask us for a copy of any earlier version of this policy.
